Color characterization

The basic color of Pigment Violet 23 is reddish purple,another variety with bluish purple color can also be obtained through special treatment.Pigment Violet 23 is a general purple species.Its production is a large number. Pigment Violet 23 has a particularly high tinting strength,when formulated with 1% titanium dioxide to make HDPE with 1/3 standard depth,the amount is only 0.07%.In flexible PVC,the tinting strength is very high while the migration resistance is not very good when it is applied in light color.

Varieties characteristics

Pigment Violet 23 can be used for coloring polyoefin, the heat-resistance temperature of 1/3 SD polyolefin is up to 280 degree.If the temperature exceeds the limit,the shade will shift to the red phrase,1/25 SD polystyrene still resistant resistant to a higher temperature above 220 degree in this medium while the pigment Violet 23 will decompose above this temperature.Pigment Violet 23 also can be used for coloring polyester plastics and it can withsatnd 280 degree/6h without decomposition.If the concentration is too low,it will be partially dissolved to make its shade reddish at this temperature.

The light fastness of Pigment Violet 23 is excellent,the degree is up to eight,but the degree of light fastness will be reduced sharply to 2 when it is diluted to 1/25 SD with titanium dioxide.Therefore the concentration for Pigment Violet 23 used in transparent products should not be less than 0.05%.

Pigment Violet is 23 suitable for coloring general purpose polyolefin plastics and general engineering plastics.Pigment Violet 23 is not suitable for coloring soft polyvinylchloride due to the poor migration.Pigment Violet 23 is suitable for coloring polypropylene, polyester and fibers of polyamide 6 before spinning,its concentration can’t be too low or there will be a chromatic aberration.When Pigment Violet 23 is used in HDPE and other crystalline plastics,it can seriously affect the warpage and deformation of plastics.

A very small amount of Pigment Violet 23 added into titanium dioxide can cover the yellow shade,and resulting in a very pleasing white color.About 100g of titanium dioxide only need 0.0005-0.05g Pigment Violet 23.
